Privacy Policy on the Website
UNITY welcomes your visit to its website and your interest in its products and services. The protection of personal data is important to us. All of UNITY’s web activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws on the protection of personal data and data security. This data protection notice provides information on how UNITY handles information that is collected during a visit to the UNITY website.
Collection and Processing of Personal Data
Personal data is any information regarding identity, such as name, email address or postal address. Such data is only stored if it is provided to UNITY voluntarily or after prior consent, e.g. when studies/information material is ordered or the newsletter is subscribed to. This data is then stored and processed accordingly.
Contact form
If you send us inquiries via contact form, your data from the inquiry form, including the contact data you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
The processing of the data entered in the contact form is therefore based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke this consent at any time. For this purpose, an informal communication by e-mail to us is sufficient. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you entered in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to store it or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Use and disclosure of personal data
UNITY will use personal data exclusively for the purposes of technical administration of the Web sites, to provide access to specific information and for other communication for the aforementioned purpose. UNITY will neither disclose personal data to third parties nor use it for any other purpose. UNITY’s employees are bound to confidentiality.
Choice
The User freely chooses which information to provide to UNITY. If the User does not wish to provide any information, certain content of the Website may not be accessible. Subscribers to a newsletter can unsubscribe from these communication services at any time at newsletter@unity.de. If your personally identifiable information has changed (e.g., zip code, email or postal address), you may also notify UNITY by emailing webteam@unity.de to correct or update the information.
Automatically collected information
When you access UNITY’s website, general information that is not personally identifiable (e.g., Internet browser used, number of visits, average time spent on site, pages viewed) is collected automatically (i.e., not through registration). This information is used to improve the attractiveness, content and functionality of the website. Even in this case, the data will not be used or passed on to third parties.
Cookies/Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
In addition, on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” provided by Google to ensure anonymized collection of IP addresses. Before transmission, the last two digits of the IP address are shortened so that identification of the user is not possible.
Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Borlabs cookie does not process any personal data.

Online presences in social media
UNITY maintains online presences within social networks and platforms in order to be able to communicate with the customers, interested parties and users active there and to inform them about our services there.
We would like to point out that in doing so, user data may be processed outside the area of the European Uni-on. Therefore, the enforcement of users’ rights may be more difficult. US providers that are certified under the Privacy Shield are thereby obligated to comply with the data protection standards of the EU.
User data can be processed for market research and advertising purposes. For example, usage profiles can be created from the usage behavior and resulting interests of users. These profiles can be used, for example, to publish advertisements within and outside the social media platforms that presumably reflect the interests of the users. For this purpose, cookies are stored on the end devices of the users, in which the usage behavior and the presumed interests of the users are saved. Data may also be stored independently of the end devices used, in particular if the users maintain profiles in the respective networks and are logged in to them.
The processing of the users’ personal data is based on our legitimate interests in effectively informing users and communicating with users pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO. If the users are asked by the respective providers of the platforms for consent to the aforementioned data processing, the legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a., Art. 7 DSGVO.

In the case of requests for information and the assertion of user rights, we would also like to point out that these can be asserted most effectively with the providers.
